The big question, HOW MUCH DOES HERS RATING COST?
Beginning July 1, 2014 the HERS Rating Duct Leakage Test will be
required in all climate zones:
For the HVAC installer including only the CF3R $146
For the Owner/Builder including all forms $176
The most common test or HERS Rating in climate zone 8 is the Refrigerant
Charge Verification and Airflow Verification:
For the HVAC installer including only the CF3R $163
For the Owner/Builder including all forms $203
Refrigerant Charge Verification, Airflow Verification and Duct Leakage Test
together:
For the HVAC installer including only the CF3R $285
For the Owner/Builder including all forms $335
These HERS Ratings or tests should take no longer than one hour each.
Should more time be required to make any necessary corrections a standby
charge of $75 per hour or portions of hours shall apply if our schedule allows.
The 2013 standard requires the installer or the owner builder to register as
such at www.calcerts.com and set up an electronic signature
(do so under "My info."). To finalize certificates they must be filled out online
completely, submitted and then reviewed and approved, "Approve pdf" by
the "Responsible person" Click here for all costs details.
